PROJECT:

“Gorgeous Drag,” was an online solo exhibition of work by Los Angeles-based fine art photographer Elizabeth Waterman. Presented by London gallery Albumen and its director Stephan Schmid, the show features previously unseen images from a prescient body of work Waterman shot in 2014-2016 when she was living and working in New York City.

Black & Gold assembled the collateral for the exhibition, including social media posts and reels, and a PDF catalog for collectors. Then the Agency organized a series of collaborative livestream panel discussions with InterPride, a non-profit organization that brings together Pride networks and individual Pride organizations around the world.

RESULTS:

Panelists included Waterman and Schmid, Madonna Cacciatore, of InterPride; radio and TV talk show host Michelle Meow, and renowned San Francisco-based drag queen Juanita MORE! Discussions centered on the major influence of drag artists on popular culture at large. The events raised funds for Interpride, and garnered print sales for Albumen Gallery.

The show was extended for several months due to popularity.
